HENRY MOORE INSTITUTE

Henry Moore began his artistic training in Leeds and went on to change the way the world viewed sculpture. As a part of the Foundation he set up in 1977, the Henry Moore Institute is a place to experience, study and enjoy sculpture.

The Institute hosts a year-round changing programme of exhibitions and events that continue to challenge how we understand sculpture today. A Sculpture Research Library on the first floor is open to all.

AIRE STREET DARKROOM

Aire Street Darkroom is the only black and white analogue darkroom conveniently located in the centre of Leeds, run by a small group of dedicated photographers. Archive is a unique coffee house and eatery on the site of a former TV archive. The large adjoining event space complete with licensed bar is available to hire for art exhibitions, private functions, live theatre and music performance. ASSEMBLY HOUSE

Assembly House is an artist-led organisation founded in 2013 by Leeds graduates with the

FABRICATION CRAFTS

Fabrication Crafts is a social enterprise that supports local artists, designers and makers. Their retail space on Albion Street sells everything from jam to jewellery, clothing and cards, artwork, furniture, etc. alongside homewares, body products and gifts. Fabrication Crafts is a social enterprise that supports local artists, designers and makers, acting as a business incubator, and helping to stop social isolation amongst crafts people.

HYDE PARK PICTURE HOUSE

Hyde Park Picture House is one of Leeds' most treasured landmarks. Situated in Hyde Park, the Grade II listed building has been screening since 1914. Towards the end of 2019 Hyde Park Picture House will undergo the 'Picture House Project', a major redevelopment creating new facilities, including a larger foyer space and a second screen in the cinema's basement. Throughout this period they will be based at 42 New Briggate, sharing a space with Pavilion, as well as screening elsewhere in the city.

PAVILION

They also source self-published and small press zines from artists around the world. Their bookshop supports a not-for-profit gallery space on the first floor. Through regular exhibitions, book launches, and artist talks, Village aim to promote work from talented emerging artists and photographers within the city, and provide a platform to showcase work by established artists from further afield.

In the comfort of this cosy corner of Leeds, Workshop provides cake and coffee from independent suppliers, art, cards and prints from local artists, sewing machine hire by the hour and an in-house haberdashery for all your sewing needs.
